The Insurers Association of Zambia is a member organisation for all Insurance and Reinsurance companies in Zambia. The Association which is registered under the Societies Act, Cap.119 of the laws of Zambia was formed in 1997. It is mandatory for all licensed insurers and reinsurers operating in Zambia to be members of the Association. The key role of the Association is to ensure that a favourable climate exists for insurance and reinsurance companies, to enable them to carry out their business in a professional manner, in order to foster an orderly growth of the insurance sector in the country. The Association has been spear heading a number of consumer awareness activities for the industry as well as actively influencing a positive regulatory framework for the sector. The Association currently has 30 members.
The International Insurance Society (IIS) is a global forum for all stakeholders of the industry, examining vital issues which shape the industry and drive growth and innovation towards narrowing the protection gap. Members include re/insurance executives, regulators, academicians and representatives from international institutions. The annual Global Insurance Forum, IIS signature event, is attended by 500 insurance leaders and experts from around the world, across all sectors.
